Colour usage

To achieve optimal results in flexographic printing, it is recommended to limit the use of colors to a maximum of 1-2. This practice helps minimise setup charges and enhances quality control, ensuring high-quality outcomes while maximizing cost efficiency.

PMS (Pantone) colours

For flexographic printing, we recommend using PMS-U (Pantone Matching System - Uncoated) colors. PMS-U colors are specifically formulated for uncoated materials like board or paper, compensating for ink absorption and ensuring accurate and vibrant color reproduction. By using PMS-U colors, you can achieve precise results that consider the ink absorption characteristics of the substrate used in flexographic printing.

Colour recommendations?

When designing for flexographic printing, it is generally recommended to avoid placing colors directly against each other or overlapping them. This helps prevent potential issues such as color bleeding or misregistration. PMS colors are often preferred in flexographic printing due to their standardised and reliable color matching system.

Special finishes

Special finishes, such as embossing, spot gloss, metallic inks, and other intricate techniques, are not available with flexographic printing. If you require these specific finishes, we recommend considering the Offset printing option, which can accommodate such requirements. Offset printing offers a wider range of possibilities for achieving special effects and enhancing the visual appeal of your printed materials.
